Another fabulous bookcase from top designer Giuseppe Bavuso of furniture brand Alivar, the Shanghai bookcase is an unusual but oddly practical contemporary bookcase.

Available in just one size, the Alivar Shanghai bookcase has an out frame in heat treated oak or black/white matt lacquer, with internal shelves either in matt lacquer (in rope, RAL 7038 grey, or RAL 9016 white) or in wood covered with a HD light cement in French Grey (as seen in detail photo).

The matt lacquer shelves are treated using the Duxilon process, which is a patented process for creating curved designs in different thicknesses with no loss of strength or stability. Inner shelves in Ductal® Cement. Ductal® Cement: An extremely high-technology product, the fruit of years of research by Lafarge, the world leading company in cement production. Cement mixture with exceptional technical characteristics and unlimited possibilities. Composed of organic fibres, it may be recycled as aggregate at the end of its life cycle. The Ductal® has been inserted between durable materials, therefore guaranteeing a product lifetime of at least 50 years. The colour does not change, even when exposed to the sun.
